MISCELLANEOUS INFO
[attr="class","omapponemisc4"]
+ While he hasn’t won an Oscar or anything, Kael has become a relatively recognisable name in the film industry, most well-known for his roles in romance movies and dramas. He’s infamous for his pretty face and allegedly long list of ex-lovers.[break][break]
+ Kael officially took a break from acting in December after some information got out and threatened a scandal that would jeopardise his career. He moved to Seattle to both get away from all the media attention and to be closer to his mother.[break][break]
+ Said information has something to do with an incident that happened in his past.[break][break]
+ His mother, Lijang Ziyuan, was a small-time actress before she immigrated to America and Kael often insists that he wouldn’t be where he is today without her.[break][break]
+ In case you couldn’t tell, Feng is a total mama’s boy. He would do anything for her, and almost everything he knows, she taught him. He sees her at least once a week for dinner.[break][break]
+ Has very little faith in the government and the justice system, in fact, he outright despises it -- thanks to his father.[break][break]
+ He took his mother’s family name after his parent’s divorce. He now doesn’t even speak to his father.[break][break]
+ Fluent in Mandarin, though his Cantonese isn’t the best.[break][break]
+ He uses his names, Kael and Feng, interchangeably. Though, his mother affectionately calls him A-Feng.[break][break]
+ A new member of the vigilante group, the Requited, code named ‘Huli Jing’. A huli jing is a fox spirit from Chinese mythology, and as his name entails, he’s mostly seen wearing an ornate fox mask.[break][break]
+ He originally joined the group out of restlessness and boredom after accidentally running into a member, but now he’s quite dedicated to his fellow vigilantes. [break][break]
+ Takes a trip to China every few years with his mother to visit extended family.[break]

[attr="class","omapponetabs3"]SUBJECT BIOGRAPHY
][attr="class","omapponebio"]
[attr="class","omapponebio1"]
[ that’s what he sees when the shots ring out. dark eyes wide and expression slack for the split second where silence reigned, all-encompassing and deafening. [break][break]
he doesn’t remember getting out of the car, but he remembers kneeling on the asphalt, the gravel digging into his knees and his hands slick. there was so much blood. he’d never thought there'd be a colour that could overpower the dye in lyric's hair, but he’d been so wrong. there was so much blood, he couldn’t stop it. he couldn’t stop it, couldn’t help, couldn’t do anything. [break][break]
the red stained -- his clothes, the ground, his hands, seeping deep into his messy curls -- it stained everything. ] [break][break]
“lyric!” [break][break]
[ his hands were shaking so much, everything felt like it was shaking, the ground under him felt unstable. ] [break][break]
“feng…” [break][break]
[ his voice was so quiet, so faint he could barely hear it. lyric wasn’t seeing him when he looked into his brown eyes. it was like he wasn’t there. his friend couldn’t see him, but he was right here. lyric look. can’t you see me? his brown eyes were empty. ] [break][break]
“oh fuck, you’re sterling’s kid?” [break][break]
[ not even a whisper answered the man, completely ignoring the police’s officer’s words. they would come back to him later and settle around his throat in a choke-hold, haunt him in his sleep and drag at his legs like shackles that have the weight of the world attached to them. but for now he ignored them. ] [break][break]
“what have you done?” [break][break]
“listen boy-“[break][break]
[ he didn’t know what to do, what could he possibly do? who could he call? who could help them? the one who was supposed to help -- to protect -- had been the one to do this. why? ] [break][break]
“why’d you do that? why did you do that? he didn’t do anything wrong! oh god, lyric. no, no, no, no, no- please help, please help him! he’s going to-”[break][break]
[ lyric died. the words didn’t seem real. but lyric wasn’t next to him in the car, laughing that goofy giggle. instead he sprawled out on the road, dark eyes staring unseeingly up at the starless sky. ] [break][break]
“feng? feng? i heard what happened. baby, i’m so sorry. i’m so sorry.” [break][break]
[ he hadn’t heard his mother approach. but she was there, finally. someone who could help. but the help was so late.[break][break]
he could barely feel the tears as they streamed down his cheeks.[break][break]
even with his mother whispering comfortingly into his hair, he couldn’t drag his eyes away from the blood that remained firmly underneath his nails. no matter how hard he’d scrubbed at the skin, it had remained there. rusty red and striking fear in his heart. [break][break]
it is there that he realises that the police officer knew who he was. he knew his father by name. [break][break]
does that mean that if he didn’t know sterling, would he have ended up like lyric? would he be on the ground as well, like a puppet with its strings cut, eyes glassy and life bleeding out of him? [break][break]
was that all that had been standing in the way of a bullet in his chest? ] [break][break]
[ it was his father who assumed the role of the lawyer who would make everything disappear. it was like nothing had ever happened. no one was punished and lyric was buried. the murderer went back to his job, while he was forced to go back to school. [break][break]
but he knew what happened. he knew what happened. he alone knew the hollow feeling in his chest, the absence of a familiar presence at his side, the slowly fading memory of lyric’s face. the blood, the tears, the gunshots. [break][break]
he’d wanted to testify, to put his friend’s murderer in prison. but when he’d opened his mouth, his father had looked at him with those brimstone eyes and the words died in his throat. [break][break]
lyric never got the justice he deserved, and no one ever knew about the witness that watched it all happen. ]
[break][break]
“i actually have a few hobbies! my mother taught me how to play the piano and how to sew, though i’m a little out of practise. i guess i also paint when i have the time, though i'm not very good.”[break][break]
“so modest. now here’s the last question, kael -- i promise this time! what’s the scariest thing you’ve ever experienced?” [break][break]
[ his expression barely falters when a bloom of red and flashing lights flood his stare, a memory he’d never forget. no one knew, and it had to stay that way. especially now, especially here. [break][break]
so he smiled and lied. ] [break][break]
“there was one time where i accidentally set fire to the kitchen table…”
