DOCTOR X UNKNOWN / DEMAGOGUE [attr="class","likeit-scroll"] friendships he's really good at telling people what they want to hear. like, uncannily good. for the most part, he'll be pretty friendly, but the kindness he shows is only skin deep. loyalties may run both ways, but you will not find friendship here. enemies while he keeps up that calm, friendly air with everyone, he hates politicians, religious leaders, the police, and the government as much as any of his followers. likewise, they probably hate him in turn - although they've got no clue they're talking to the object of their greatest fears when he's buying them drinks and sucking up to them for hours on end. romances romance. ha. you might be able to get him in bed, though, if you're good at that sort of thing. |

THIRTY / BEAT COP [attr="class","likeit-scroll"] friendships kind of a party girl. doesn't usually strike people as a police woman at first. likes to hog a lot of attention and will do as many fun/crazy things to get it as possible. if you like a good time, i guess, stick around her and it's bound to find you eventually. enemies really, really hates criminals. kind of has a sore spot for politicians, too, just since their job was almost crammed down her throat. not to mention there are people out there who dislike the police force, so - things go both ways. romances also into dudes. is basically a strong, independent, not-so-black woman who don't need no man, so she's not really looking for anyone long term right now. |

i'll start with the most obvious relationship - doctor x. i'm slightly curious as to how dx regards morgan, really. i mean morgan can be great and all at his job, but he's also far from no nonsense and serious. have you seen the amount of emojis he'll use in a text? not to mention that his original and main occupation is hardly what one would expect from one of those big and scary enforcers. maybe dx didn't take him all too seriously at first when he was all like "yeah man i wanna be one of those guys, those enforcers" but changed his mind slightly afterwards?? honestly idk ahahaha go run where you want with this one[break][break]
but srsly the opportunity for angst when dx finds out about him and em and dara like hooooo boy that's good shit sigN ME UP[break][break]
with evelyn the only thing i can think of is that morgan's a huge regular at the restaurant bc he loves the ambiance or something and kinda drags along his sketchbook every time he goes to eat there?? might stay up till the last few minutes then volunteer to help to clean up or something bc he feels bad for staying that late without eating that much. though idk how that'd work exactly bc she's not a waitress she's a chef and i don't normally see all that much interaction ahaha[break][break]
another idea i could go with is bc morgan does really love sketching whatever he sees in day to day life. stays out late one day, happens to be sketching and sees her, thinks "oh ok i can probably sketch her too" and then realises how late it is and that he should be getting back, and that he could always be nice and offer to walk her to wherever she needs going or give her a lift or sth. "i know i'm the creepy guy who was sitting there with a giant sketchbook but i promise i'm not doing anything stupid okay but it's dangerous at night do you want me to walk with you". bonus points if she tries to throw her keys at his face first or sth bc morgan's height in general does not make him the friendliest figure[break][break]
idk about natalia honestly, except that morgan might temporarily join up with the police to gain extra information (or plant false information) for the sake of the revolution. probably joins up as a sketch artist or sth minor, sees her around the office and offers to bring coffee to her table or sth bc she looks super engrossed in her job. alternatively, natalia might know him by association as dara's good friend/boyfriend at one point (though this is probably slightly later down?? who knows omg). he's very careful to conceal his association to the revolution, intending to keep the organisation all secretive anyway. Robert and Evelyn should deeeeffs meet at some point, even if just to bitch over drinks about the industry they've both found themselves in. I think they'd get along, despite a bit of an age difference. They can certainly relate considering their workforce. Because she's younger, and because Robert isn't the sort to see if he can "get" with everyone he meets, they'd probably just be good friends and I can't see anything romantic really developing unless it happened over a really long period of time? Okay, but Pie, have you seen some of the other revolutionists. So long as those emojis aren't going directly to the Doctor, it's probably not a problem. XD If they are, he might get his phone privileges taken away. NO MORE ELECTRONICS FOR THE WEEK, MISTER. Admittedly, DX probably was like, internally groaning and being like, “Ugh, another loser, guess I've got my work cut out for me. Again.” when Morgan joined up, but was actually pretty impressed when Morgan first got to show off his stuff? I mean, he still probably taught/had someone teach the guy some more effective ways of getting out information and other such enforcer-y things, but it sounds like Morgan was kind of made for the job, and DX definitely appreciates (and takes back his previous statements... mostly). Of course, that'll probably change back once the whole Dara things come to light; after that, Morgan's definitely not going to be getting any trust out of this guy, and one false step'll probably have a bullet whizzing past his head. C': “And what a shame; you always were so talented.”

I ACTUALLY REALLY LIKE BOTH OF THESE IDEAS, THOUGH? Like, honestly, I don't see why we couldn't take a stab at trying both. They work together to clean up after hours the first time they meet, and while they don't SUPER get along, it's one of those, “Hey, they weren't so bad; I could stand to put up with 'em for a while” kind of deals. And then when he offers to walk her home, like, a week or whatever later (bonus points if neither of them recognized each other, and it's only after key-throwing happens that they're like, “oH CRUD-”) and at first, she's like, “CREEPER ALERT”, but she ends up going along with it because she remembers him as the guy who stayed behind to help her clean. 8O After that, maybe they're, like, “Huh, wow, okay, I actually kind of get along with this person” and every time they bump into each other from there, they just talk about dumb things like drawing and birds and how awful the government is.

ALSO, NATALIA IS JUST... SUPER HARD TO DO STUFF WITH both as a writer and someone else trying to plot, SO I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR YOUR STRUGGLES. I don't mind either of the ideas you came up with, though! Actually, one idea might be that – well, she comes from a family of politicians (actually moved back to Seattle after trying to get away to make sure her brother doesn't wind up dead), and so while she doesn't know that it's specifically the revolution doing the killings, she's still got a few choice words to say about 'em because they're a threat to the people she loves. Maybe she goes off on a tangent about how directionless and horrible they are and Morgan's just, like. Trying very hard not to punch her in the nose or something?

UM, YES TO THESE TWO. Chefs unite to fooooooooorm... a whole lot of sarcasm, apparently. While we probably won't know for sure until there's an actual thread, I get the feeling that these two would probably get along – or at least be glad to have someone to make snarky jabs at the woes of being a chef with. Probably nothing romantic, I agree, but... Well, basically a stamp of approval on everything else you have outlined there. XD She's actually a really horrible cook (and a subject of nepotism, since she works at her mom's restaurant) herself and serves as a line chef because nobody would want her on a specific job, so maybe she asks him for some tips, or even convinces him to get together with her sometime for, like, a night of hardcore cooking. Where she nearly burns down whoever's house it is. Good job.[break][break]

but damn, the doctor really just brings all the angst with him, doesn't he. though i wouldn't put it past morgan to accidentally send a stupid message about penguins directly to DX and then panic bc wrong person oh no please go ahead destroy his phone it'd be hilarious and now morgan is sad bc that was a very cute cat phone cover. honestly i see morgan struggling between just desperately wanting to please (a trait that has screwed over past relationships and will undoubtedly continue to bring much conflict into his life) and just being very, very cautious and nervous around dx?? like when you're confronted with a very, very scary teacher. Jokes aside, I've got a handful of random plots to slap down with le Doctor man. Some of the sillier ones include an inside joke that she always uses the codename 'Sally Smith', as discussed in the cbox. The other being that one of her three cats, Whiskers, straight up refuses to leave the damn HQ. So he lives there now, k? I have this headcanon that he just adores Doctor X too hahaha. So expect Kaede to be making frequent trips to the HQ to check on him like a fussing mother and bring him very specific food from a very specific downtown shop. Feel free to give him treats outside his diet in secret though! ;p

I spoke with Electra in the cbox about an unlikely friendship between Valerie and Kaede. She said Doctor X was planning to kidnap her, potentially? We thought it'd be fun to squash their budding friendship - Kaede's only successful friendship with the law - a bit further down the line by Kaede helping with this. As a close friend of Val's at that point, she'd have an easy in to lure her somewhere. Kaede's loyalties lie with the Revolution, so she wouldn't hesitate to hand the girl right over, friends or not. She's a cop. Let me know if this would be cool with you!

Lastly, Kaede is your crazy workaholic medic meat shield. Always on-call and constantly visiting. She works on-call for a private hospital, and then devotes the majority of her free time to helping the Revolution, both as a medic and a guard as needed! She can be a sweetie until someone finally sets her off...OK, and sometimes she's cranky pre-coffee lmao. I'm curious to hear what Doctor X though of the sleep deprived girl who marched her way to an interview and bravely through a game of Russian roulette? And if you've got anything you'd like to add or emphasize about her role in the Revolution, please let me know! I'm totally game for her being a high profile guard for you top dogs, and medic~ I still need to plot with Harley and see if maybe the mute and this chatterbug can be good friends. <3 |
