Lillian was born into the sex trade. She lived with other children who were sold to anyone willing to pay for their bodies. Her memories of that time are terrible, she was always cold, hungry and hurting, and others who she thought of as family disappeared all the time while new brothers and sisters would show up randomly. No amount of effort to be normal could ever really drive the dark away from her or the others, though they would laugh, play games and do what they thought other kids might do.

As she got older Lillian tolerated the abuse less and less. She might never have known anything different, but she didn’t like the way things were. She began to refuse to play the games she was expected to. She wouldn’t be the princess, or daddy’s little girl despite beatings and threats. Eventually she was given to the customers who liked it better when their toys fought back, cried, or suffered. The more they hurt her the more she resisted and fought back.

The only reason she is still alive now is that the FBI and local PD task force working in the are decided to break up the ring that owned her. She was barely a shadow of a real girl when she was led out of the darkness into the sunlight for the first time in her young life by the man who would someday become her father.

It took years of therapy, medical treatments and TLC from her adopted parents before Lillian began to resemble a normal child. She still suffers from PTSD and her hearing loss is permanent as are many other scars. She often struggles with feelings of being dirty and worthless and has never had any success at dating. She has a few friends who she met along her road to recovery (one she is still on) and she treasures them though she worries she is not expressing to them how important they are. She has done considerable work with other victims hoping to pass on the hope and healing she received and is studying to be an art therapist at the University (currently a doctoral student).
