if there's anyone you could call reliable, it would be diana. you can always count on her to get the job done to the best of her ability. but you can also always count on her to overwork herself in the process. stubborn to the bone, she understands that you telling her to rest means you care, but she's just got to get this done! "just a bit more," she'll say. don't listen to her. she loses herself in her job due to her desire to help others, even if it's something small. you can usually find her responding to as many calls as she can.[break][break]
when it doesn't involve work, diana is just as organized, although perhaps the slight mess of her apartment wouldn't show that. she's just never home enough to fully keep things clean, though she tries her best. diana also always tries to be on time to things, to the point where she stresses herself out and arrives way too early.[break][break]
she is extremely protective over those she holds dear, but is also very gullible considering those she trusts or feels she should trust and is perhaps, in general, not suspicious enough of people who could have possible bad intentions in her personal life.

"oh shit. ohhhh shit." her alarm hadn't gone off like usual. diana stumbled out of bed, nearly tripping on some of the clothes haphazardly thrown onto the floor, body being thrown into overdrive from the very real fear of being late for work. despite that, she was still a little unsteady on her feet, bumping into furniture and her bedroom door with little hisses of pain as she made her way to the bathroom of her apartment.[break][break]
glancing into the mirror, diana grimaced at the red marks on her face. it was unavoidable most of the time, her hand and the fabric of the pillow scrunching up beneath her face. but she didn't have time to focus on that right now. she had to take a shower as quick as she could. a quick glance down at the photo taped to the corner of the mirror brought a soft smile to her face, her singing nerves quieting ever so slightly. it was a family photo from her high school graduation, taken in front of her mother's flower shop. a flash of worry happens, like usual, for her father - nobody knows where he is. the politics scene has a rumor that he'd run off with another woman but diana doesn't believe that. they didn't know him like she did, like her mother and her brother did.[break][break]
but enough reminiscing for now. into the shower she goes, quickly scrubbing herself down underneath the boiling hot stream, washing her hair as well despite the worry that it would take too long. rinse, turn the shower off, and step out with reddened and sensitive skin to cover with a towel. and then, from her room, a ringing.[break][break]
how long had it been? how long had she stood there, looking at the picture, looking at her skin turning red with heat? a sharp terror runs through her, a cold flash that even the remaining heat in the bathroom can't quell. but, she realizes quickly, it's not her regular call ringtone. it's... her alarm. what?[break][break]
walking back into her bedroom, diana grabs her phone and turns the alarm off, squinting at the time as her hair drips water onto the screen. she turns toward her regular clock, noting the hour ahead it is, and then sighs. she'd forgotten that it was that time of year. the time where clocks turn back an hour. not her best moment, but at least she wouldn't be late for work, and she could take the time to water her flowers now too.
