☾ Aruba is of Egyptian and Indian descent, hence why the two names. Her father named her after his own grandmother, who he remembered as a kind and strong woman in spite of the harsh realities she had to face and live through. Her mother gave her the name Shubhreet, recommended from the local fortune teller and given in hopes to prosper and do well in her future.

☾ She doesn't wear her hijab anymore; stopping for the sake of safety and after being sick of the labels and judgement she got from people upon returning to America. She only keeps two scarves; one from her mother who got it for her on her trip back to India, and her father who bought one for her in Egypt. Unfortunately, as much as it hurts her to part with the hijab, she feels like she isn't worthy and will dirty it.

Unfortunately, she is often the target of those she's trying to advocate against despite being peaceful. She finds herself the target of many hate crimes; both outside of her career and inside.
