The pianist immediately smiled at the sight of his tired bandmate. “Good morning, sleeping beauty.” The teasing greeting slipped out easily, and he simply watched as his friend collapsed on the vacant couch. Someone had definitely had a late night. Probably making more videos for his channel again. Nathan had to admire his dedication, he definitely worked had to make entertaining content for their fans.

Yet, despite the obvious drowsiness that plagued him, he still couldn’t stifle the want to try out a new shade of lipgloss he’d gotten on Jasper. He waited for a moment, a wide grin playing across his expression as he tried to think of a way to ask to do Jasper’s makeup when he was practically still asleep on his feet. But the redhead actually beat him to it. Nathan laughed quietly in response. “Was I that obvious?”

Nathan pursed his lips as he considered Jasper. “That’s two conditions, but okay Jazzie. And blue? Definitely not your colour. C’mon babe, I wouldn’t make you look anything less than perfect.” He proclaimed, dramatically putting a hand to his chest in false offense. But then he gave the nearing task some thought, peering at the guitarist’s face with narrowed eyes. “Hmm, definitely not blue, but red… now that’d look good.”

“Go get your coffee.” He prompted with a quick shooing motion of his hand, before quickly reaching for an upturned bag of makeup he’d left on the floor beside him.

Nathan couldn’t help the delighted smile that graced his face at the quick sensation of fingers combing idly through his hair. The fact that his bandmates didn’t mind his overwhelming amount of affection and even returned it would always make him feel ridiculously happy. He called to Jasper’s retreating back with exaggerated forlornness, “I miss you every second we’re apart!”

Hearing the guitarist mutter to himself from his spot on the floor, Nathan immediately spoke up just as he finally found the lipstick he was looking for, “Treat yourself, Jazzie!”

When Jasper finally found his way back, the long-haired man couldn’t help but eye the beverage he bought with him. It smelled really nice. Usually Nathan liked his coffee to be strong, but Jasper always made his own really sweet. Hmm, maybe he’d be able to sneak a sip or two when Jazz wasn’t looking.

Nathan mirrored his friend and saluted in return, with false seriousness. “I won’t let you or your face down, I promise. You won’t find any person better for this job than me.” He said with a short giggle, before grinning as he held up a fiery red liner and a red lipstick that was several shades darker. The colour was somewhere between purple and red. It’d look great on Jazz. “Now, what do you want me to do first? Lipstick or eyeliner?” He wasn’t going to go too hog wild with Jasper’s make up. Just enough.

Nathan didn’t even bother to hide the broad grin stretching across his face as he took the offered drink. He definitely hadn’t been subtle when he’d eyed the coffee, and he barely had any remorse for making his desire for it clear. But, it was still Jasper’s drink. He wouldn’t drink it all. He allowed himself a slow sip, before placing it back where Jasper had first left it. It was so sweet, but it was also so good. When Jasper selected the eyeliner, Nathan happily put the lipstick down and snickered quietly at the face his friend pulled. He was a huge goof, but Nathan supposed he was no better.

Seeing Jasper so excited about his second job always made Nathan feel happy in response. The members of the band that were able to juggle so many responsibilities definitely had way more dedication than he did. Hans taught, Paige wrote, Cadence worked at her store and Jasper made his videos. Nathan and Apollo were the only ones with no jobs outside of the band, and he couldn’t help but be proud of his friends’ efforts. So seeing Jasper so eager to include Nathan in something he loved doing, immediately made him want to agree. That reaction was exactly why he was so bad at stopping everyone from running amok. Paige was still adamant about throwing that rave, and as the time passed, more and more of the band seemed to join her crusade. It wouldn’t be long before Nathan gave in completely.

“No, no, no- Jazz, I’d love to be in a video! That sounds awesome!” He admitted with a big smile. Fiddling with the eyeliner between his fingers, he couldn’t help but think about the suggestion. “I don’t know about making a channel of my own, though. I’ve seen how hard you work on your videos, all the filming and editing- I definitely wouldn’t be able to do all that. I don’t even know what I’d make videos on. Makeup, I guess? I don’t know.” He shrugged to himself, before turning his attention back to Jasper. “Don’t stop though, tell what ideas you have. What’s cooking in that brain?”

Nathan was all for being guest star on Jasper’s channel. His main concern though, was whether or not the guitarist’s fans would appreciate his presence in a video or two. But, if Jazz said they’d love it, he found it difficult to doubt him. He’s the one that knew his audience after all, and if he thought that they’d like him, then he was probably right. Nathan would just have to do his best to be as charming as possible!

The pianist listened intently to his friend’s ideas.

“Oooh, I’d love to do all those things! Watching you try to doll up Hans would be awesome.” He gushed, almost just as excited as Jasper. Directing Jazz on how to do Hans’ makeup sounded like a particularly good idea. He could already see it now, a complete but extremely fun disaster of makeup and Nathan being unable to properly give advice on makeup through his laughter. That, and he’d be able to witness his two bandmates interact. There was definitely something going on between them. Mutual pining maybe? Though neither of them seemed to be really aware of it. Or maybe they were? He kind of had no clue. He just knew, without a doubt, that they were crushing on each other. He could barely fault either of them too. He could see them being a nice couple, once they got the courage to admit their feelings. Though, who knew how long that’d take.

He was almost tempted to start a betting pool on how long it’d take the two of them to get together. Paige would definitely join in if he raised the idea… hm, definitely something to think about.

“But okay, you’re right. We’ll worry about all that later.” He finally got back on track and stopped fiddled with the stick of eyeliner to properly hold it. Nathan leaned in and advised with a playfully stern gaze. “Now look up and try not to blink too much, I don’t wanna mess it up. Or poke you in eye.” It was definitely harder to put makeup on other people than it was to put it on himself, but he’d done it a fair amount through the years, so it wasn’t too difficult. Eyeliner was probably the hardest thing to do, people like to move and he had to avoid stabbing them in the eye. It was probably best that they were getting this out of the way first. But he knew the end result was worth the brief discomfort.

With those short instructions, Nathan directed Jasper to tip his head slightly back, before gently beginning to draw a line under his eye. His plan was to apply liner just underneath his eyes, then giving him a perfect winged liner.
