Night quickly approaches Seattle, where the sun dips just below the horizon. With it comes the stain of purple and blue, rapidly taking over what's left of daylight. Being an investigator is tiring. It's especially grueling when there isn't crime around the city. Call her a thrill seeker, but it's much more interesting when she's out in the field. Unfortunately, today it was all paperwork. [break][break]
When it was finally time to clock out, she practically jumped to the door, a quick 'have a nice evening' over her shoulder and the tail ends of her white cloak fluttering close behind. She'd decided early on that Starbucks would be a good reward for all the hard work she did today. It never fails to put her in a better mood. [break][break]
"A cotton candy in a regular coffee cup, please." She doesn't need her peers to see her with a frap in hand. That'd be disastrous to her reputation. The baristas are experienced and thankfully quick to finish her order, and Valerie sits herself down at a small, open booth. With her cup in one hand and her phone in another, she languidly scans the headlines across the local news site. Might as well enjoy her drink before leaving.
