Tonight’s date was one such instance, and she was genuinely excited. Senator Wayne was well known, a champion for social justice, an active campaigner who put himself among the people. If she didn’t know the depth of depravity behind those golden boy smiles politicians painted on their public faces like a whores rouge, she might have bought the whole lie. She knew better, and she had been right, for here she was dressed in a cocktail dress the color of midnight that teased the view with a glimpse of one supple thigh and the creamy almond color skin of her shoulder and throat. Her pink locks were hidden under a long black wig, and her makeup had a hint of smoke and touch of glitter to her already pretty complexion. She looked amazing if she didn’t say so herself, classy and sexy at the same time, it should be perfect. [break][break]

She entered through the staff entrance with the help of one of her associates, she had no interest in being photographed until she was cuddled up against her mark. Once inside, she casually entered the traffic of ultra-rich and ultra-powerful, their clothing and jewels costing more than most people spent on cars. The event space was decorated in gold and mauve hues, large bouquets of flowers decorated the entrances, and smaller versions graced the center of the dozens of tables spread around. Most people were standing, moving around the room and talking and laughing, leaving the tables lonely repositories for empty glasses and hors d’oeuvres plates. For her role, she set herself up at the bar, perching on the stool and resting her arms on the long glossy black surface.
