Lifting his hand to stifle a yawn, Corin blinked tiredly at his dimly lit apartment. He didn't quite know what time it was, all he knew was that it was most definitely night-time. Taking a nap as soon as he'd walked into the apartment definitely hadn't been the best idea. He probably wouldn't be able to get to asleep again until some ridiculous hour in the morning. Peering out at a window into the street below, he jolted slightly when he saw a sleek shadow prowl under the streetlights. A cat. Oh. That was something he'd forgotten to do. He hadn't fed any of the neighbourhood cats in several days. Honestly, he was surprised that he hadn't gotten pestered by the felines the second he'd gotten home from work. Getting up from the couch with a small sigh, Corin trudged through the apartment, absentmindedly fixing his crooked and slightly sleep-wrinkled clothes as he went. He didn't bother even thinking about getting changed. He'd just do it after feeding the cats that happened to be around, and he was knew they'd be around. [break][break]
He shuffled more than walked his way to the kitchen. He tried to wake himself up a little more as he prepared the cats' dinner, focusing on the task at hand. He'd need to be alert when he went outside. Just in case he needed it, he slipped a switchblade into his hoodie pocket as he headed towards the door. [break][break]
So, clad in woolly socks, an oversized hoodie and a skirt, he stepped out of his apartment and down the stairs with leftovers in hand. The steps protested noisily under his weight, but he ignored it. Stepping out into the cool night, the young man paused to peer warily into the darkness, watching for any night roamers than may pose any kind of threat. He'd been in the area long enough to know what many people would more than love to take advantage of a turned back. After a minute of looking around, he finally turned his attention back to the task at hand. Looking to the alley was resided beside the apartment building, Corin was unsurprised to see a sharp-eyed feline waiting for him. Quietly stepping over to the cat in his pastel pink socks, the young man crouched down and set the food onto the ground. Reaching out, he simply gave the cat a gentle stroke before leaving it to its meal. A few more would come as well, lured in by the smell of food, and there was more than enough to go around. [break][break]
Standing up, Corin shoved his hands into his hoodie pockets, fingers wrapping around the switchblade that resided within. It provided a small amount of reassurance as he watched over the cats. He'd wait until all the food was gone before taking back the dish and going back upstairs. While it was tempting just to leave the animals to their meal, he didn't want to leave the bowl out on the street. He'd done that one too many times, and he didn't want to have to get a new bowl for every one he lost. That took money that he didn't have.
