Aris was born in Seattle, Washington and despite moving away for several years, and now that he’s back he has no plans of leaving again. He is twenty-four and owns a small bookstore that is practically overflowing with books, both old and new. He has a few mental health problems, of which he prefers to hide from others if he can. But even so, he makes sure to go to therapy once every two weeks. Ari is friendly and warm-hearted, and despite being slightly shy at first, he is a rather selfless individual that despite his own self-loathsome nature, will happily go out of his way to help those who need it.[break][break]
All delicate features and dark eyes, Ari is almost constantly bundled up in a scarf and a sweater. Even in the warmer months, he still likes to stay warm with long-sleeved shirts. If he isn’t working or looking over bills, he usually has his head in a book. He’s an absolute hipster in the way he avoids Starbucks like the plague and has more preferences that would be considered a little ‘out there’. Also, when he can, Ari likes to volunteer at homeless shelters and often donates money to multiple organisations. [break][break]

PAPER AND INK, OPENING A NEW PAGE

Ari is friendly and despite being rather shy, he is genuinely kind to people until they give him a reason not to be. Becoming his friend is actually a pretty easy thing to do. He’s nice to you if you’re nice to him, and he likes company when he’s working in his bookshop. With his friends, he puts them first before almost anything else and would do anything for them. He’s protective and loyal, he’d never let his friend (or anyone really) be bullied or insulted. The only flaw he can have is that he doesn’t talk or bring his own problems to light, opting to listen to others and helping them instead of letting them help him for once. [break][break]

SINGED WORDS, BROKEN SPINES

Aris doesn’t often care for making enemies, he just doesn’t have it in himself to resent people or actively hate another person. But, of course there are exceptions. For example; his ex. While he’s more frightened at the prospect of his ex being anywhere near him, he does hate the man to a certain extent. He doesn’t like those that are rude to him, but he doesn’t hold it against them unless he finds out the actual reason behind it is something pity or unsavoury. Like, the one time he was cursed at by a middle-aged woman for being gay. She’d had her two children with her at the time, and he’d honestly been more shocked than hurt at first. [break][break]
But basically, what gets to him is close-mindedness and flat out unnecessary cruelty directed at either himself or other people. [break][break]

FAVOURITE PHRASES, DOGEARED PAGES

With his history in relationships and the trust issues that have formed because of them, it’s not much of a surprise that Ari is cautious about getting that close with other people. While he can do one night stands just fine, he finds anything more meaningful and intimate than that to be difficult. And that’s not from the lack of trying to form proper relationships with another person. He’s wary of trusting someone that much and drawing them that deep into his life, so, to say that starting a relationship with him would be difficult would be an understatement. It’d involve angst and a lot of pain, but would it be worth it? [break][break]

OTHER

Ari is definitely in need of a few workers in his bookstore, possibly a few part-time or even full-time workers would help take some of the workload off of his shoulders and maybe give him a chance to make a few friends? Or maybe someone in law enforcement could catch him on a bad day, smoking something he shouldn’t? (He’d probably be super scared if someone caught him, because he has a criminal record and history with that stuff, and honestly he only does it when he’s really sad or stressed which is basically every blue moon) Anything else that anyone can think of? There isn’t anything else that really comes to mind. [break]
