He was almost thirty, and he honestly couldn’t thing of very many things that felt better than the sense of satisfaction that came with blatantly earning his parent’s very loud and very opinionated disapproval. He often thought that maybe he should get a different pastime, it was pretty juvenile, he’d admit. But he wasn’t anywhere near ashamed enough of his actions to even think about stopping. It was just too much fun to see the look on his mother’s face when he ruined the plans she’d set out for him. Whenever he did something, his parent’s disapproval was usually what made him love what he was doing. Like the time he’d dropped out of medical school just to get a rise out of his father, and found that he actually really liked [break][break] Despite his main goal being something rather spiteful, he usually grew to like and accept the changes he made to himself in order to upset his family. It wasn’t often that he found something that he genuinely liked and decided to do it. Dyeing his hair had been an example of the rare phenomenon. It was bright and blue, and he absolutely loved it. It was only a bonus that his parent’s silently loathed it. It was another rare instance when he started to dabble with live theatre. He actually quite liked to acting, much to his surprise. [break][break] Which is why he was going to try auditioning for a play. He’d heard good things about it, and he actually really liked the script a lot. Most of the characters were quite entertaining too, so he had no doubt that he’d at least have a fun time with it. The only problem he was encountering, was the lack of willing participants to help him practise. No one he knew seemed to be very eager to help him, so he’d stepped out of his apartment and gone to the park to try practising. Though, it was a little fruitless with just to recite lines to himself. [break][break] Then he saw him. The boy was obviously a little younger than him, but quite a bit taller and he caught his attention immediately. Not really his type, but still pretty cute, he supposed. It was decided then.
