MISCELLANEOUS INFO
[attr="class","omapponemisc4"]
+ ramona has been in law enforcement for almost twenty years, and became assistant chief six years ago. her eyes are now on the position of chief of police.[break][break]
+ her mothers had been trying to have a child for three years before she finally came along. [break][break]
+ she has an older half-brother and a younger sister.[break][break]
+ ramona got divorced five years ago, and she has shared custody of her daughter. now her daughter is seventeen, and ramona tries to see her as often as she can. though, work keeps her very busy sometimes and she doesn’t have the time.[break][break]
+ she has an extremely low tolerance for alcohol, so after several instances where she’s made a fool of herself whilst under the influence, she avoids it like the plague. [break][break]
+ ramona and her ex-husband have a relatively good relationship despite their separation. the main reason behind the divorce was complicated, but involved the fact while they loved each other, they didn’t particularly want to be married anymore.

[attr="class","omapponetabs3"]SUBJECT BIOGRAPHY
][attr="class","omapponebio"]
[attr="class","omapponebio1"]
when he proposed, ramona shouldn’t have been surprised. yet, there she was, in a rare moment of dumbstruck silence.[break][break]
the man she’d known since she was a child -- her best friend and closest confidant -- was asking her to marry him. [break][break]
she liked him. she did. it was impossible to describe just how precious he was to her. their parents had always expected them to get together, since they were just kids. it was simply inevitable. right?[break][break]
she loved him. she did. she did...[break][break]
so, she said, “yes, of course.”
[break][break]
after hours of hard labour, ramona was tired. sweat had long since matted her hair and errand strands clung uncomfortably to her skin. there were aches and pains in places she was unaware could hurt that badly, and she was so, so tired. she just wanted to go to sleep.[break][break]
but then she heard a piercing cry echo through the hospital room, and sleep was the last thing on her mind. suddenly, she needed to see the source of the sound. she needed to. She needed to know. she needed to know that they were okay, that they were healthy.[break][break]
luckily, she didn’t have to wait long for her husband to bring them to her. no, not ‘them’. her.[break][break]
when her husband gently handed her the bundle, ramona couldn’t breathe. looking down at the tiny face, those impossibly dark eyes and those little hands. so small, so fragile.[break][break]
her daughter was absolutely beautiful.[break][break]
she couldn’t stop herself from crying at the sight of her. she’d made this. this tiny, beautiful little thing was something she’d made. she and her husband had made this. [break][break]
“she’s perfect.”
[break][break]
this was awkward. the silence was practically deafening, yet she didn’t quite know how to break it. what does one usually do in a situation like this? it wasn’t every day that she walked into her house to find her husband with another man. they hadn’t been doing anything that couldn’t be considered completely innocent, but it’d been the look on her husband’s face. guilt. they hadn’t been doing anything, but the man she knew so well, who’d been her husband for so long… she knew he had wanted something to happen.[break][break]
she was probably supposed to be angry. maybe feel betrayed, upset or heartbroken. instead she just felt kind of awkward. and a little relieved. and she knew the exact reason why.[break][break]
ramona loved her husband. she’d known him for a very long time, after all. since she was very young. it’d probably be more strange if she didn’t love him. sometimes she felt as if she knew him better than she knew herself.[break][break]
she loved her husband, but it suddenly occurred to her that they hadn’t slept with together in almost a year. or had it been even longer than that? was her husband happy in this relationship? was she happy?[break][break]
she loved her husband, but…[break][break]
she knew what she had to do.[break][break]
“we should get divorced.”
[break][break]
walking into work, ramona ignored the faint whispers she heard at her back as she passed through the different departments. but even though she blocked their words from her mind, she couldn’t help but fill in the blanks for herself. [break][break]
“cheating husband… daughter acting up… neglectful wife and mother… planning to run for chief of police”[break][break]
she was going to ignore them. they didn’t know anything. and she wasn’t about to correct them. that wasn’t her job. maybe if they did their jobs as well as they made wild assumptions, they’d be promoted by now.[break][break]
she’d climbed this high without anyone else’s help, and she’d only go higher. she wasn’t about to let mere rumours get the best of her. [break][break]
peering down at the group of recruits blocking her path, she raised a single brow at them. “don’t you have jobs to do?”
are you satisfied?
