born in a small town that has less significance the more he talks about it, Holland only moved to Seattle once he could afford it. before that, he attended a school like any normal kid. did normal kid things. honestly, he's not very interesting. from a young age, his parents introduced him to the more all-natural way of life. they were nature lovers (he grudgingly called them hippies) and free-spirited. and most of all they were deep in love. his childhood was spent seeing two involved people care for each other and the result of their affections was him. he never did have siblings; he was "enough" for them. as such, he was often spending time alone or with his folks. he could entertain himself just fine, being an introvert, and was more studious than active.

it changed around his 18th birthday when he was yet again in another fight. despite not being a bulky guy, he was usually in brawls. his anger got him into deep shit sometimes. expelled from various schools for it, he at least held his temper in until he graduated his 3rd high school choice. before college, he decided enough was enough. he'd calm the hell down. honestly, he joined yoga to pick up women but after awhile enjoyed it enough to stay on. when he graduated business school, he remained health-conscious. inspired by his parents, he decided to open a flower shop in their honor. with a bachelor degree in hand after four years (a minor in horticulture), he'd work his butt off to save for his own place. his parents were supportive but he refused their cash. we wish we could say more, but the sad fact is he got into flowers and herbalism due to their influence. it didn't make it less of an achievement when he got the loan from the bank. it didn't make it less important when he moved away from that small town to start his own business. hell, he grew mostly what he'd sell. an effort had been made. it continued to be made. it was that much more special when his parents would call to tell them they were proud of him. but he made it his own. both the shop and his life. Holland also wishes he could say significant events shaped him. again, he thinks he's boring. nothing really special happened to him in the past, and he tries to keep his head down in Seattle. but stuff happens and will continue to happen, whether he likes it or not.

so for now, he's running a small shop in a cheap part of town. it gets business. he pays the bills. he survives. all is well. he may not have a ton of stuff and lives like a hermit, but he is happy. that's all that matters in the end, right? well, we hope so.[break][break]
