Junichi Ornsparre's childhood inspired an unshakable love of literature. From a young age he was whisked away to the most beautiful places in the world, introduced to new food and unique experiences, allowed to purchase any area-specific souvenir he liked, even as said items were packed into more and more boxes to be carted to their next home, along with the books he'd read on each trip, just as priceless as the memories he kept in his journals.

Eventually, Junichi's bedroom in Seattle, once they settled and put travelling on hold, put on full display the items he'd gathered along the way, reminding him of the adventures he'd had at Riiku's side. Of course, their parents were there, too - to tend to injuries, provide food and cash, and answer June's million and one questions, and yet, somehow, the most memorable moments were the ones at Riiku's side, Riiku bravely jumping, running, playing, while June tentatively climbed down, chased after, and mimicked Riiku.

Riiku was his role model, his protector, and without question, his best friend. It was Riiku he imagined in the pages of his adventure novels, Riiku he thought of in the midst of a mystery novel, and Riiku he wanted to explain the plot of a sci-fi thriller to. He was the unbreakable presence, but also the one who, paradoxically, needed to be bandaged up and cared for after a fight. June was the first to volunteer, quick to sit at his brother's bedside to baby the bloodied boy. Gang or no gang, he trusted his brother's judgment overall, and could not turn his back on him.

The true surprise, and perhaps the moment June realized there was more to life than just being smart and excelling in school, was when Riiku became a father. Young as Riiku was, June had never been more proud than when he saw his older brother with his young son, Yuuma. Though June wasn't willing to admit it to Riiku, Yuuma changed June's life, as well. Rather than pursuing an educational path that would lead to a professorship, the college freshman studied English Literature to teach high school students, relatively assured he could pursue another degree at a later date.

A town like Seattle, Washington isn't exactly where the French-born male expected to stay after high school, not after seeing what he had of the rest of the world. And yet, between the beautiful scenery, the dynamic nature of the city, and the fact that Riiku and Yuuma are nearby, there was enough of a reason for him to rent a small one-bedroom apartment on his teacher's salary and to be happy, for now, to call this home.
