- ari remmington was actually born aristotle imogen remmington. he doesn't like his real name too much and his parents didn't seem to either, seeing as he referred to as ari and aris for the majority of his life. [break][break]
- he studied english literature in college for three years while working at a restaurant part-time before he decided to drop out of college and use the collected savings of both his part-time job and his father's money to buy his very own bookstore. [break][break]
- just to clarify, he may have used his father's money to help buy the place, but the old man still owes him from all the times he's borrowed money from ari.[break][break]
- he lives in the apartment that resides in the second floor above his bookstore. it's a nice place with ample living space for him. he has creaky wooden floors, art decorated walls and worn second-hand furniture.[break][break]
- he used to live with his dad in oregon, but moved back to washington when he was about eighteen years old. he got into college, and stayed in the dorms on campus until he dropped out.[break][break]
- ari often visits his mother when she's having one of her better days, and will usually spend the whole day with her just talking and listening to whatever she wants to say before he has to go back home.[break][break]
- despite how pretty and good-natured ari is, he is cursed with what a lot of people call a resting bitch face. when he isn't smiling, his default expression is of someone who appears either extremely frustrated or put-upon. [break][break]
- he smokes a little too much, but it helps him keep calm a lot of the time and has long since become quite a bad habit of his. despite his history with substance abuse, ari luckily never developed a addiction to any of the drugs he took and happily smokes marijuana when it's offered or when he's in the mood. he's never made the mistake of going back to anything harder than that though. - he was involved in an abusive relationship when he was in college. it scared him pretty badly and stilted his expectation on what relationships should be. this relationship was actually part of the reason why he dropped out of college, partially because it was a way to get away from his ex but mostly because he wasn't interested in finishing college.[break][break]
- aris was diagnosed with BPD (borderline personality disorder) when he was nineteen years old. this mental disorder isn't very aptly named, but a more accurate title has yet to be thought of. by definition 'borderline personality disorder (or bpd for short) is a serious mental illness that causes unstable moods, behavior, and relationships. it usually begins during adolescence or early adulthood. most people who have bpd suffer from: problems regulating their emotions and thoughts. impulsive and sometimes reckless behavior.' because of this, ari goes to therapy once every two weeks. he never skips an appointment.

FUTURE RUST, THEN IT'S FUTURE DUST

- ari was born in seattle, but moved away at age thirteen when his parents got divorced. because his mother had a history of mental problems she was only given visitation rights, while his father was given full custody.[break]
- his father was always working, so he never got to see him very often. even when his dad was home, the older man would usually retreat to his bedroom and sleep until it was time to work again. this negligence led to him leaving the house with his friends while his father wasn't at home and going to parties. he was only fourteen when these incidents began. [break]
- these parties were far from safe for the young teen. it wasn't rare for him to be dragged to parties where much older teenagers were attending, the oldest attendee being a college student. which meant, there was more often than not alcohol being served to everyone that walked into the door and drugs being distributed to anyone that wanted them. [break]
- this went on for about a year before he finally got into very deep trouble. you see, ari's friends at the time weren't what you'd call the best kind of friends. they pressured him into doing things he was unsure of and often forgot about him, leaving him as their attention was captured by much more interesting things. it's to no surprise to anyone that this ended in aris being in a very bad place.[break]
- ari just so happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and got arrested at a party for being under the influence of multiple illegal drugs. he was drunk too, and not to mention, he was a minor being only fifteen years old. his friends abandoned him the first chance they got and left him to take the fall. [break]
- somehow ari was able to avoid going to a juvenile detention centre -- he suspected that his dad had managed to pull a lot of strings -- and instead he was given a measly a seventy-eight hours of community service and was also put on house arrested for seven months. he was also required to attend NA meetings for as long as his parole officer saw fit.[break]
- after that, aris stopped seeing his usual 'friends' and steered clear of drugs and alcohol, much to his parent's relief. his father started spending more time with him, and honestly he was just happy that he was able to eventually graduate highschool. [break]
- aris applied for multiple colleges in washington and was pleased to be accepted to a university in seattle, close to his mother where he could visit her often. while there, he majored in english literature with a minor in business. unfortunately, he dropped out after a few years.[break]
- instead of continuing with his studies, ari set up shop as a bookstore owner and has stuck with the career path for over a year now.
