Their mother was a technician while their father was a doctor. From early on, it wasn't difficult to see Jordan was a bright child. After school every day, they'd walk over to their mother's shop. Piece after piece, screw after screw, code after code, Jordan found it absolutely amazing how their mother could take apart and put back together something with ease. Machines were complex contraptions, after all, especially to their six-year old self. Upon asking her one day how she did it, their mother responded with a smile and a light tap to their nose. Isolation, she said. You're getting too overwhelmed looking at the whole. Break down everything as small as they can go. Test each part out individually and the flaw will eventually show itself. Eventually you'll learn how everything works together. Of course, her explanation was more than confusing to her young child, but they were words Jordan kept close. [break][break] As they grew older, they quickly took a liking to troubleshooting and things of the like. At twelve years old, they built their first computer. And when they turned fourteen, they began helping out their mother for an actual set wage. And through it all, Jordan had fun. It changed the way they viewed the world. Tinkering with things, reverse engineering them, became almost an obsession rather than a hobby. It was all they wanted to do. And thus it wasn't surprising when they choose to major in computer science during their senior year. They received acceptance letters from many colleges, but not wanting to move too far away from home, they chose to enroll in Seattle University.[break][break] The ChangeCollege life was extremely different from back at home. Classes were different. There were no immediate punishments for skipping class, and the classes were enormous in size. Not only that, but the social atmosphere was unfamiliar too. With not only restrictions loosened, but also the turn of the century to celebrate, the first few months were wild and hectic. Parties were held on a regular basis. Their dorm mate would often come stumbling in during the early hours of the morning drunk to the core. Jordan not only found that new, but simply the people in general. They were from all over the country. Each person had a different personality with drastically changing views from the rest. Some people made sense, while others were more contradictory. It was more interesting than they'd like to admit. Actually, they found the new social crowd extremely intriguing. Almost much more than the major they initially chose. [break][break] It didn't take them too long to switch their major to psychology. While computers definitely were complex, their parts were easy to number. Jordan built, fixed, and improved so many different machines, they were practically grasping for a new challenge to take hold of. So when they found how interesting people could be, it was as if their prayers were answered. With each class they took, multitudes of new "parts" were added to these human machines. They kept on becoming more and more complex. And Jordan loved it. Each person they met was a new puzzle to solve, a new person to mentally reverse engineer. Sure, they knew people would find it alarming, but as long as they kept it strictly an internal thing, nobody was hurt. [break][break] The NowUpon graduating, they received a job as a criminal psychologist, or "shrink," for the Seattle law enforcement. It was no secret criminals had the most interesting minds, after all. Sometimes, Jordan felt that it would be better if they actually tried to change their viewpoint of humanity, but what was the point? They did their job well, after all, and that's all that mattered.
