adelaida is... complicated. very much so, in fact - at times she seems like a completely different person. and, usually, that's because she is. [break][break]
he is very odd, unique in their own little ways - some would even say 'off-putting', but that's too rude! oddities to her interests, attire, sometimes how she speaks and the wording he chooses to use. how sometimes he will stare at you for what feels like hours, when really he's daydreaming up in space. his stability is off, just a smidge. what would normally make him excited can at times make him pissed beyond belief, or bawl and throw a tantrum. she's weird, she's abnormal, and how adelaida works in general is to the left of the norm. not that that's always a bad thing.[break][break]
a defining feature in their personality... is that she is very shy. meek, submissive, terrified of socialization - the discomfort on their expression is outstanding, clear as day that they normally don't want to be here. despite the fear, the discomfort, ade is still friendly, sweet, kind in first impressions. odd, of course, but still... trying, in a sense. but being docile doesn't make you weak, ade is proof of that.[break][break]
determination is the name of the game: adelaida has plenty of it. if she believes in a cause, if she believes in a person, she will do anything she can to help them out. in spite of all fragility, he wants desperately to do things right, to be helpful and be useful. he's strong, able to withstand multiple types of abuse, and even if it cracks his soul she still wants to keep moving forward and keep trying harder. this level of determination is a blessing, and a curse. even though his trust is faulty, going headfirst into a cause without thought can lead to disasters, and ade is the first to know that. [break][break]
this doesn't seem like someone who's too complex, right? this seems like a mostly average person, someone who is as complex as any other - but adelaida isn't quite like any other. adelaida has a disorder that meddles with her life, not always in a bad way but in a way disruptive at best. her personality is split, creating complex personas within her.[break][break]

➼ adelaida has did - dissociative identity disorder. while diagnosed only recently, he has had fully fledged alters since he was about ten. along with dissociative identity disorder, she has several other mental disorders, ranging from bipolar to psychosis.[break][break]
➼ the way their pronouns alternate can be pretty confusing, so if it gets to be too much, she is okay with someone sticking to one for a while - so long as they do not automatically assume he is that gender. he's pretty lenient, though, and understands alternating pronouns are not something everyone is used to![break][break]
➼ despite not being very religious, adelaida is very spiritual! he has an interest for wiccan magic and likes to collect crystals, stones, and pretty pieces of wood he finds.[break][break]
➼ has a sibling! despite any sibling woes they may have, adelaida adores them and is grateful that they exist. why wouldn't he, they put up with her all the time.[break][break]
➼ due to the fact that he has no job at the moment, adelaida spends a lot of her time on hobbies - ranging from baking to sculpting to painting. she's a jack of all trades, able to do most of them pretty decently, but ade has a special attachment to things relating to artworks. because of this, he does make some income off of commissions online.[break][break]
➼ that said, she does do 'odd jobs' for the revolution. while she agrees to do them all, he doesn't quite know what exactly he's doing - only that it is 'important'.[break][break]
➼ their dream job is, or was, to become a famous painter, like van gogh or something. or, like, an art critic or something. ade never really gave it too much thought.[break][break]

[attr="class","omapponetabs3"]SUBJECT BIOGRAPHY
][attr="class","omapponebio"]
[attr="class","omapponebio1"]
trigger warning for mentions and implications of several forms of abuse.[break]
their family history is muddied, forgotten, memories mingled with fairy tails, stories of the past mistaken for stories of fable - adelaida cannot recall the history her family held so dear. was her grandmother important, or just a farmer? was her grandfather a genius, or an average man with little to his name? was what he remembered glorified facts of a caricature, or the truths of a hero? ade didn't know, couldn't remember. were they refugees or just immigrants? there wasn't an answer accurate enough for ade to give, she was too young, she didn't care, and her memories have long since been locked away to time, and pain, and fear.[break][break]
what he did know, what he could remember, was his father... his mother... his sibling. immediate family members, all older than she. his father: he was large, strong, built like a lumberjack and a bear. a literal bear - fuzzy and hairy and big and smelly, long claws and sharp teeth and sharp tongue and harsh fists. intimidating, scary, mean, harsh. that's just how all fathers are, though.[break][break]
his mother: she was the same as him, but smaller. an undersized bear, an unfed bear, but with less hair, and a more venomous expression. a daunting gaze mixed with the sweet sophistication of a lie behind a smile. her thin exterior mirrored the bones she undoubtedly gnawed on to stay strong. her fangs, her sharp tongue, her cruel sneer - all weapons to ravage her prey. she was terrifying, vicious, but that's just how all mothers are.[break][break]
parents - adults - were just that way. intimidating. dangerous. a force to fear, because fear is love. [break][break]
but then, their sibling - their sister, who told them it would be okay, who hid them while fights broke out, who got them ice cream on days that were hot on the way home from school in spite of how little income they all had. warm, caring, unfearing. stronger than one could ever be - siblings were the heroes who had a whole new type of love - one of admiration. one of truth, one of home.[break][break]
misty images of other family members existed within the confines of his memories - hazy and blurry, as if someone had smudged their faces and let them vanish in the wind. no remaining tales that could be told in exact truths, only a vague lie that was hoped to be real.[break][break]
something in them became complicated at the age of nine. something... broke. she became someone new, someone who'd growl at the name they'd been called for the past years of life, someone who was cold, poised, 'mature'. years of fear, of screaming, of crying had caused someone new to take adelaida's place - but only sometimes. only sometimes did this nastasia appear, chasing off friendships, chasing off enemies, chasing off any soul who could cause them harm. only one was allowed to stay, and she had chosen that long ago.[break][break]
nastasia - a phase, her mother had claimed. a mere phase for this weird little child who had been so disobedient as of late. the mother hated nastasia, the father hated nastasia, nastasia soon learned to hate herself as well. but she pressed on. her existence had caused upset, further harming them both, and so she pretended to no longer exist, acting as adelaida, blending in as them. and soon, a few months after this 'phase' began... she 'vanished', almost completely.[break][break]
leaving a very confused ten year old in her wake.[break][break]
this child would wake to less friends than before, to an even more disgusted grimace from mother and father, and an increasingly worried stare from the sister she loved so much. every day she woke, it'd be weeks later, sometimes a month or two, and before it had stopped, adelaida was terrified. why did everyone hate her more, why did her father harm her worse, why did her mother do such horrible things so often, why - why - why -[break][break]
everything was quiet for a little while after that - months, he thinks. maybe years. maybe both, maybe neither. life got slower, life got steadier, adelaida had grown used to the torment, accepted it as a way of life. until another appeared - fifteen, mischa. now they were a force to be reckoned with. 'oh, adelaida's going through her rebellion stage!', their mother would groan, but mischa was no rebellious stage - they were a rebellious state of life. they took everything head on, they challenged it all. the worse of the abuse had come to a halt, and the rebellion they exhibited... somehow scared away any more to come. when it stopped seeming like a punishment, it had stopped, and mischa kept up the attitude they had.[break][break]
adelaida was confused by the fact that, yet again, she was losing time. sometimes to mischa - sometimes to the rare nastasia, chasing off more friendships - but sometimes... to another as well. one who left notes, ominous scribbles, indicating what had happened throughout the day, signed off with 'tamryn'. eventually, the sticky notes evolve into a little journal. their beloved sibling knows of tamryn, but doesn't... understand. none of them do - none but tamryn knows of the others, until he decides to try and fix that.[break][break]
'write down your name and a little about yourself, please and thank you.'[break][break]
it was soon apparent that there were more than adelaida knew of - not all of them were cooperative, of course, but the fact that there was something, in this little book, that proved to adelaida that someone else lived within them? it was... overwhelming. he now had names: nastasia, mischa, lada, tamryn.[break][break]
a few years passed since the official introductions of alters to host - adelaida was now seventeen. the abuse and torment had slowed to a stop (minus the verbal matches that would occur weekly), but her sister had by now... grown tired. tired of her own personal torment, it was clear she wanted out. she wanted away from this family, from these beings who continued to target the eldest child. but how could she leave without her sibling? without ade, someone so fragile, and all the people along with him that, despite all odds, she'd grown some attachment to?[break][break]
it must have been months of saving. saving adelaida never caught onto, despite the fact tamryn and nastasia had. tamryn had elected herself to help saving the money, to help figuring out the plans, to keep the stress to a minimum for his poor, fragile host. they had both formed a plan - run away to seattle, the closest major city they could get to. it wouldn't technically be running away for the sister so beloved - she was an adult, almost nineteen years old - but for ade? it could run into legal trouble.[break][break]
so the day of adelaida's eighteenth birthday... the plan was in action. nastasia - despite the fatigue from fronting - packed all they needed, all any of them would miss and care to keep, everything of value and anything deemed necessary, packed all of it into the car, and the two siblings rode off after dark. nastasia made sure to leave a note for ade, explain what had happened, what was going on - and, they left.[break][break]
the money saved was not much, but it was enough. enough to rent a small apartment, enough to pay for food and gas, and enough to keep them alive until a job was found. and one was! but not for him.[break][break]
the change in environment, the change in surroundings, it had been too much, and the mental health that had stagnating for so long seemed to plummet when, finally, the newest alter reared his ugly face.[break][break]
his name is demyan. and adelaida was petrified by this newest alter. he claimed to be helping, but nothing he did was helpful in the slightest. it made habits return that had been long beaten, it brought new vices that left them all feeling ill, it would threaten others and almost do them harm before someone else stepped in - adelaida was scared of what this alter was willing to do.[break][break]
this left her very vulnerable.[break]
and vulnerable people are preyed on like mice by vultures in disguise.[break][break]
he was a strange man, doctor x. strange name, strange way of speaking, strange aura around him. his silver tongue was more brilliant than she could deny - as he spoke, adelaida listened and was entranced by his cause. there are 'favors' she can do for him, talents he believed she had. they were small, they were unnoticeable, and demyan... demyan was useful. but doctor x was careful. he never spoke of demyan, he never spoke of the skills that could be useful, he did nothing of the sort, just spoke to adelaida and adelaida alone.[break][break]
and adelaida felt special. worth something. useful.[break][break]
'i'm not sure if it's a good idea, though.' he had to decline doctor x's offer. 'i'm... not well enough to work, i'm sorry.'[break][break]
'we know all about your woes.' doctor x had a card up his sleeve. 'and we'd like to provide you the help you need.'[break][break]
core. adelaida. any. the original personality.[break]
the original, the core, the host, this role has many names, and adelaida fits every one of them. she's been here since the beginning, endured most life has thrown at her, and swallowed every rough patch with struggling pride. being the core has it's perks - he has the most control, he is the one most people meet and know, and he is the one who shares the name of his body. her personality and quirks are considered the 'norms' for ade. that, of course, does not mean they are a norm.[break][break]
adelaida is... a very odd person. weird quirks, off putting behavior, odd interests and socialization. once breaking through the initial meek shell he puts off, ade is a strange person, though most quirks can be easily avoided. she does try to be very outwardly friendly, very open with others - but time came with instability and timidness for her. docile is a good word to put it, around those she is close to she may appear docile and submissive in hopes to keep others happy.[break][break]
however, despite being so submissive, he is far from weak. determined and trustworthy, ade does whatever is possible to complete tasks, and works very hard to proof her worth and her strength. with unwavering resolve, he refuses to let others get him down, in spite of the fragility his heart holds. [break][break]
adelaida knows about their system. she's learned through the gaps in her memory and the notes alters leave her - and while absolutely terrified of whatever bad things they could do, she's... grown to like them. some of them seem sweet, and kind - they will write him letters about their day, record videos to let him know who they are and how they've been, and so on. and even if they weren't kind, their productivity wards off any negative feelings. still, the lingering threat of exposure or danger isn't one to take lightly.[break][break]
protector. nastasia. she. protects the host from traumatic situations.[break]
a protector - a role in which the alter does whatever they can to keep the host and body from harm. nastasia often comes off as cold, calculating, harsh. she makes her presence known with her eloquence, more formal attire, judgmental gaze - if you don't know her or her role to play, nastasia seems like a poor 'choice' in a protector. she comes off as mean, she comes off as a bitch, she comes off as rude, who would ever consider her a protector?[break][break]
nastasia's specific role is more of a trauma preventer. she can tell much better than the others when someone can, and will, harm them - how they act, how they speak, how they look at them, all are subtle keys to her on who she should avoid, and who she should chase off. she's perceptive, clever, and knows how to twist her words to try and make others back off. but, of course, she's not perfect - she isn't the best at her job, and she knows that.[break][break]
being harsh and chasing others away is a lonely job, and doing it to the wrong person at the wrong time has, in the past... ruined things. due to this, nastasia has a bit of a guilt complex - she's not perfect, and it kills her. she's very lonely, she does want friends, but the thought of bringing someone into adelaida's life of nastasia's will disgusts her - she doesn't feel as if she deserves friendships of her own, simply put.[break][break]
knowing her job well, and knowing she cannot control every outcome, nastasia only fronts when she deems necessary, when she deems someone in their life dangerous. if not to cut someone out, than to at least outline to adelaida and the others to get rid of them before she makes her appearance known. she doesn't really want to exist, she's come to accept. please don't make her have to show up.[break][break]
protector. mischa. they. protects the host from physical situations.[break]
protector of the mind, meet protector of the body - mischa! unlike nastasia, mischa is... hoo boy, they are a bit of a mess. brains versus brawn? well, this is the brawn. mischa has most, if not all, of the fighting skill, knowing best how to utilize adrenaline to keep them from getting killed. it's not so much that they know how to fight... it's more of... they will fight. [break][break]
cocky and headstrong, mischa actually rather enjoys life, but is a bit reckless with it. they're an adrenaline junkie, searching for some sort of rush wherever they can. irresponsible, abrasive, they, too, are not the ideal vision of a 'protector' - unless, of course, you're thinking of some superhero variant. in which case... okay, you're not really seeing that in them either, but hell, they'll claim you are![break][break]
mischa is much more outgoing than the others, having avoided most traumatic situations and having no memory of such things occurring. lucky them. then again, there's a chance mischa just... doesn't care. the trauma from seeing a dead body would hardly even phase them, so... what really could? mischa's persona is over the top, friendly in many ways and a bit of a womanizer, they wear loud clothes, enough personality to carry the crowd, and enough words to leave others aggravated.[break][break]
a bit dumb, a bit selfish, mischa has the least care for themselves and the system attached. yeah, sure, they protect it and help it get through fights, but, like, who cares? out of all the others, mischa is the least likely to keep anyone up-to-date, relying on others to do that for them. maybe it's because writing sucks, maybe it's because they do what they want. not a very good protector, but at the very least... they aren't a terrible one.[break][break]
child alter. lada. any. child regression alter.[break]
many names fill this role: child alter, little, age regressor, and so on - lada exists to preserve some form of innocence within the system. as the name suggests, lada's mental age is... well, young. she represents how adelaide was when ade was little - only lada gets to try and preserve that innocence.[break][break]
lada is a special case within the system - he's what's called an 'age slider'. their mental age changes and slides between the ages of 4 and 10, acting accordingly as if they are those ages. she's the only one who does this, the only one who can. (though, adelaide sometimes age regresses, he cannot age slide.) [break][break]
even as her mental age changes, lada has characteristics that always remain the same - she is overwhelmingly curious and wants to learn all he can. why does this do this, what happens when you do this, how can i make this work. they ask a lot of questions, they want to know and learn and understand. every time they learn something new, she has to share it with everyone! excitable and filled with wonder - but not without the side of brattiness that some children have. you can tell her no, but how far is that going to get you when she argues back, demands a reason, throws a fit?[break][break]
lada doesn't understand everything about the world, and no one can expect him to. even he doesn't expect himself to. lada's happy with his books, his stuffed animals, his cake and sweets - it's not hard to please her, and it's not hard to keep her calm. just have patience, and let them make mistakes from time to time.[break][break]
note: this alter has nothing to do with anything sexual, and should be kept away from that at all costs. lada isn't there for a kink, and her role should not be confused as such.[break][break]
memory keeper. tamryn. he/she. in charge of the core’s memories.[break]
the role of 'memory keeper' is exactly how you'd think of it - keeper of memories. tamryn 'keeps' and 'discards' the memories from adelaida or any of the other alters. a confusing statement, but simply put: she can help them either remember or forget a memory. sometimes, it's dangerous for someone to remember something bad that happened, and sometimes, it's a necessity, and tamryn gets to, in a sense, pick and choose when it happens. though, that's not to say he's all powerful - memories lost due to time were going to be lost no matter whether tamryn could help or not.[break][break]
being the memory keeper has helped tamryn form in a much different way to the rest of the system. unlike the others, he has a 'line of contact' with them even when they are fronting - meaning, she can communicate with them at, mostly, any time. this isn't a surefire thing, however - they do not have a system that's built in a way to allow complete complete and total access at all times.[break][break]
tamryn is a much quieter person - soft-spoken, kind, cautious. she doesn't do much to set herself apart from adelaida, dressing the same or similar - the only difference is his ticks, his quirks, how he reacts to others. (and, that's only when she's being herself, and not posing as adelaida) tamryn tends to be very... respectful, almost proper, and is always initially wary of others. knowing most, if not everything, about adelaida and the others' life has helped cement an idea of caution around anyone. [break][break]
sadly, tamryn also has taken on the most paranoia and distrust, being a very, very guarded person, and making sure to keep secrets locked up from others. while kind, while friendly, and while genuinely caring about others - she doesn't want to be hurt. she doesn't want to be hurt, and she doesn't trust almost anyone to not hurt them. [break][break]
prosecutor. demyan. he/it. working against them all.[break]
a prosecutor - sometimes mistaken for a stereotypical 'evil' alter. prosecutors are how you'd expect; they are often working against the body and host. they come off as mean, tormenting, they usually hate the host or the other alters, they can be spiteful, they can be 'evil', they can be bad. demyan doesn't completely fit that bill.[break][break]
demyan doesn't actually think of himself as a prosecutor, an instigator. no, he thinks of himself as a protector. a guardian. he feigns care for the core, for the body, for those close to them - but how he acts, how he lashes out, is proof of otherwise. having taken on all ill feelings planted in adelaida's head at a young age, he's a bit of a twisted person - in order to show you care about someone, you must hurt them, harm them, and beat them into fighting for themselves.[break][break]
despite being harmful, dangerous, a source of struggle and a blame for any habits of harm, demyan does have a loyal protectiveness about him. he's manipulative, cruel and callous - but it's directed in a way more akin to 'only i can harm this person', rather than 'let's go make mistakes and get you killed'. he wants them all to survive, just get stronger. he wants them all to suck it up, suck up the pain and misfortune, and fight back.[break][break]
but he is still, at the end of the day, a prosecutor. his mindset is twisted, dangerous, backwards. to make people stronger, they have to go through pain. to make people not hurt us, they have to fear us. because of such animosity to others, demyan is often not allowed to front - he is as stunted as they can make him. sadly, that's not much. he has a more masculine style preference, and an intense like for military uniformed looks. he's sporadic, and lives off of chaos.[break][break]
IMPORTANT NOTE: this character, while a depiction of DID, is not every case of DID. dissociative identity disorder, and other disorders like it, are complex, and unique in every case. not every person with dissociative identity disorder has a prosecutor or 'evil alter', not every person considers it a disorder, and not every system hates being a system. this portrayal is as unique, and accurate, as i can make it - but it is also still not perfect. if you want to better understand disorders like this, i suggest researching them, and having an open mind as you do. thank you!
trigger warning for mentions and implications of several forms of abuse.[break]
it gains the more it gives
their family history is muddied, forgotten, memories mingled with fairy tails, stories of the past mistaken for stories of fable - adelaida cannot recall the history her family held so dear. was her grandmother important, or just a farmer? was her grandfather a genius, or an average man with little to his name? was what he remembered glorified facts of a caricature, or the truths of a hero? ade didn't know, couldn't remember. were they refugees or just immigrants? there wasn't an answer accurate enough for ade to give, she was too young, she didn't care, and her memories have long since been locked away to time, and pain, and fear.[break][break]
what he did know, what he could remember, was his father... his mother... his sibling. immediate family members, all older than she. his father: he was large, strong, built like a lumberjack and a bear. a literal bear - fuzzy and hairy and big and smelly, long claws and sharp teeth and sharp tongue and harsh fists. intimidating, scary, mean, harsh. that's just how all fathers are, though.[break][break]
his mother: she was the same as him, but smaller. an undersized bear, an unfed bear, but with less hair, and a more venomous expression. a daunting gaze mixed with the sweet sophistication of a lie behind a smile. her thin exterior mirrored the bones she undoubtedly gnawed on to stay strong. her fangs, her sharp tongue, her cruel sneer - all weapons to ravage her prey. she was terrifying, vicious, but that's just how all mothers are.[break][break]
parents - adults - were just that way. intimidating. dangerous. a force to fear, because fear is love. [break][break]
but then, their sibling - their sister, who told them it would be okay, who hid them while fights broke out, who got them ice cream on days that were hot on the way home from school in spite of how little income they all had. warm, caring, unfearing. stronger than one could ever be - siblings were the heroes who had a whole new type of love - one of admiration. one of truth, one of home.[break][break]
misty images of other family members existed within the confines of his memories - hazy and blurry, as if someone had smudged their faces and let them vanish in the wind. no remaining tales that could be told in exact truths, only a vague lie that was hoped to be real.[break][break]
and it rises with the fall
something in them became complicated at the age of nine. something... broke. she became someone new, someone who'd growl at the name they'd been called for the past years of life, someone who was cold, poised, 'mature'. years of fear, of screaming, of crying had caused someone new to take adelaida's place - but only sometimes. only sometimes did this nastasia appear, chasing off friendships, chasing off enemies, chasing off any soul who could cause them harm. only one was allowed to stay, and she had chosen that long ago.[break][break]
nastasia - a phase, her mother had claimed. a mere phase for this weird little child who had been so disobedient as of late. the mother hated nastasia, the father hated nastasia, nastasia soon learned to hate herself as well. but she pressed on. her existence had caused upset, further harming them both, and so she pretended to no longer exist, acting as adelaida, blending in as them. and soon, a few months after this 'phase' began... she 'vanished', almost completely.[break][break]
leaving a very confused ten year old in her wake.[break][break]
so hand me that remote
this child would wake to less friends than before, to an even more disgusted grimace from mother and father, and an increasingly worried stare from the sister she loved so much. every day she woke, it'd be weeks later, sometimes a month or two, and before it had stopped, adelaida was terrified. why did everyone hate her more, why did her father harm her worse, why did her mother do such horrible things so often, why - why - why -[break][break]
everything was quiet for a little while after that - months, he thinks. maybe years. maybe both, maybe neither. life got slower, life got steadier, adelaida had grown used to the torment, accepted it as a way of life. until another appeared - fifteen, mischa. now they were a force to be reckoned with. 'oh, adelaida's going through her rebellion stage!', their mother would groan, but mischa was no rebellious stage - they were a rebellious state of life. they took everything head on, they challenged it all. the worse of the abuse had come to a halt, and the rebellion they exhibited... somehow scared away any more to come. when it stopped seeming like a punishment, it had stopped, and mischa kept up the attitude they had.[break][break]
adelaida was confused by the fact that, yet again, she was losing time. sometimes to mischa - sometimes to the rare nastasia, chasing off more friendships - but sometimes... to another as well. one who left notes, ominous scribbles, indicating what had happened throughout the day, signed off with 'tamryn'. eventually, the sticky notes evolve into a little journal. their beloved sibling knows of tamryn, but doesn't... understand. none of them do - none but tamryn knows of the others, until he decides to try and fix that.[break][break]
can't you see that all that stuff's a sideshow
'write down your name and a little about yourself, please and thank you.'[break][break]
it was soon apparent that there were more than adelaida knew of - not all of them were cooperative, of course, but the fact that there was something, in this little book, that proved to adelaida that someone else lived within them? it was... overwhelming. he now had names: nastasia, mischa, lada, tamryn.[break][break]
such boundless pleasure
a few years passed since the official introductions of alters to host - adelaida was now seventeen. the abuse and torment had slowed to a stop (minus the verbal matches that would occur weekly), but her sister had by now... grown tired. tired of her own personal torment, it was clear she wanted out. she wanted away from this family, from these beings who continued to target the eldest child. but how could she leave without her sibling? without ade, someone so fragile, and all the people along with him that, despite all odds, she'd grown some attachment to?[break][break]
it must have been months of saving. saving adelaida never caught onto, despite the fact tamryn and nastasia had. tamryn had elected herself to help saving the money, to help figuring out the plans, to keep the stress to a minimum for his poor, fragile host. they had both formed a plan - run away to seattle, the closest major city they could get to. it wouldn't technically be running away for the sister so beloved - she was an adult, almost nineteen years old - but for ade? it could run into legal trouble.[break][break]
we've no time for later now
so the day of adelaida's eighteenth birthday... the plan was in action. nastasia - despite the fatigue from fronting - packed all they needed, all any of them would miss and care to keep, everything of value and anything deemed necessary, packed all of it into the car, and the two siblings rode off after dark. nastasia made sure to leave a note for ade, explain what had happened, what was going on - and, they left.[break][break]
the money saved was not much, but it was enough. enough to rent a small apartment, enough to pay for food and gas, and enough to keep them alive until a job was found. and one was! but not for him.[break][break]
you can't await your own arrival
the change in environment, the change in surroundings, it had been too much, and the mental health that had stagnating for so long seemed to plummet when, finally, the newest alter reared his ugly face.[break][break]
his name is demyan. and adelaida was petrified by this newest alter. he claimed to be helping, but nothing he did was helpful in the slightest. it made habits return that had been long beaten, it brought new vices that left them all feeling ill, it would threaten others and almost do them harm before someone else stepped in - adelaida was scared of what this alter was willing to do.[break][break]
this left her very vulnerable.[break]
and vulnerable people are preyed on like mice by vultures in disguise.[break][break]
you've twenty seconds to comply
he was a strange man, doctor x. strange name, strange way of speaking, strange aura around him. his silver tongue was more brilliant than she could deny - as he spoke, adelaida listened and was entranced by his cause. there are 'favors' she can do for him, talents he believed she had. they were small, they were unnoticeable, and demyan... demyan was useful. but doctor x was careful. he never spoke of demyan, he never spoke of the skills that could be useful, he did nothing of the sort, just spoke to adelaida and adelaida alone.[break][break]
and adelaida felt special. worth something. useful.[break][break]

[break][break]
sadly, tamryn also has taken on the most paranoia and distrust, being a very, very guarded person, and making sure to keep secrets locked up from others. while kind, while friendly, and while genuinely caring about others - she doesn't want to be hurt. she doesn't want to be hurt, and she doesn't trust almost anyone to not hurt them. a prosecutor - sometimes mistaken for a stereotypical 'evil' alter. prosecutors are how you'd expect; they are often working against the body and host. they come off as mean, tormenting, they usually hate the host or the other alters, they can be spiteful, they can be 'evil', they can be bad.
