Gentle-natured and friendly, Cotton is generally considered easy to like and easy to talk to. Despite his intimidating size and a myriad of mental health issues he is careful to show a warm, albeit sometimes melancholy demeanor. Despite his penchant for open kindness it is very difficult to earn his genuine trust due to a mix of trauma, abandonment issues, and his quiet loyalty to the revolution, and even close friends are unlikely to know all his secrets. If you do, however, manage to earn his good faith, he'll lay down his life for you without a moment's hesitation.

[attr="class","omapponetabs3"]SUBJECT BIOGRAPHY
][attr="class","omapponebio"]
[attr="class","omapponebio1"]
Cotton grew up in a home that, despite providing food and a roof over his head, was sorely lacking in many things a person desperately needs. Love and support were strangers in his home, all sweet words from his parents spoken only with the intent to manipulate and build false hope before cruel shouts tore him down again. They rarely hit him, but they did not need to, the things they said were enough. Only a handful of friends, online and offline, kept him going; though those relationships were often defined more by his constant efforts to help his friends than anything else. He acted as a therapist for nearly every friend he had, trying to coax them to believe in a happiness he wasn't sure he believed in anymore. The only one who truly coaxed him to have faith in life was a close childhood companion, someone who he felt very deeply for. The two were tremendously close, blurring the lines between friendship and something more with sweet, young innocence. Unfortunately his dear friend's parents had no tolerance for this, and upon finding out about their closeness they took his friend and moved away, stealing the person Cotton trusted most in the world. From there he closed off, still trying to help others but without getting too close; in a pattern that went on for years. Eventually, as was likely inevitable, his hopeful words were not enough and he failed to save one of them; a loss that combined with the cruelty of his parents to drive him to the edge of an overpass, where he stood and stared at the street below.[break]
This is where the revolution found him.[break]
It was pure chance that a member of the Operation, one of the hitmen, should not only see Cotton there, but also choose to try to speak to him. Steadily, the stranger talked him down, drawing him in with talk of changing the world to be better and having a place that didn't rely on unkind family members. The concept of purpose and hope was more than enough to entice the vulnerable man, and with a nod, he followed his new companion back their headquarters to meet the mysterious Doctor he'd been newly informed about.[break]
In spite of his intense desire to make a difference, Cotton is not much of a violent man. He doesn't always agree with the revolution's actions, and seems to have very shaky trust in Doctor X. Still, he found a place and a cause working as a therapist for members of the Operation, helping pull them through the trauma that the job often brought. He uses his payment to rent a humble apartment, and keeps a rooftop garden that he claims as a hobby, which produces fresh fruits and vegetables for the revolution.
