AQUILA KAVERLY + VAN[break]i think aquila being hard to talk to outside of work would make van want to talk to her more! ve loves a challenge haha nd aquila can definitely b seen as one... but i also think van might be skeptical abt aquila bc she's a public prosecutor, but ve'd also respect her hustle. i can defs see them meeting either in court or thru clients deciding to settle, but i think either way it'd end w/ van asking if she wants to go for a drink nd being ridiculously aggressive abt it haha. [break][break] van is also semi-new to the lawyer scene in seattle (bc ve spent most of his time in nyc working for firms there) so ve'd defs want to try and at least be friendly w/ her!! as long as aquila lets van know she doesn't drink alcohol, ve has no problem going somewhere else like a cafe or resturant instead!! i honestly see van badgering aquila over and over until she gives in bc that's just the type of person ve is!! i think van would defs think aquila's goal is cool nd relatable if they talked abt it!! ve'd defs respect her a lot more knowing that she's got an an actual goal that she's working towards rather than ver thinking aquila is just... a lawyer to be a lawyer. tbh i think Vaniah is the type of person Ben'd avoid if it's unrelated to work. Because criminal defense lawyer reminds him of 'i found out my client was, in fact, a criminal, and fuck I DIDN'T GET PAID.' Ben would be extra salty - even more, if Vaniah asks/asked him to testify for a former client's case. But Ben might have slipped his card like 'Call me if you need to hide a body' he can cash more for this type of… services, after all. And he wouldn't care if Ve'd snap back at him at some point (or he'd be 'took you long enough').
So it would be more like criminal defense lawyer and PI crossing paths from time to time?

omg if van chases him, ben would be 'what's wrong with you?' I'm not sure how much he'd show the situation annoys him. If he'd use words or try to scare van although ben might drag himself into deep troubles. Otherwise, his endurance is pretty good, so he wouldn't mind van's bothering (until he has really enough, rip). please, van, come bugging him. he needs people who would make his life difficult

and ben would take the money, but i think he wouldn't keep it for himself. I've a pretty good idea about what he would do with - but he'd rather die than admit the truth. (but it could be interesting/fun that van found out later)
