"TAAAAAAO?" a shrill voice fills the air, followed by the louder pounding of feet against the ground. Was this in any way appropriate? Hell, nah. Did she really care? HAH. Equally so. A streak of pink rushes down the campus grounds of one of the many (or few, she never bothered to look at the numbers) universities scattered across Seattle. It's pretty hard to miss it; like, a streak of bright, vivid pink down across? You'd have to question whether or not that were natural and - to much disbelief, she knows - it's fully natural! Maybe she could dye her hair brown? Maybe people would actually take her seriously if she did that, right? But then that would be so BORING. Like, zzzzz kill me now?? Okay but a fun, chestnut or hazelnut brown would be really nice? Especially - ESPECIALLY - if it had some of that bright, burnt bronze near the ends?? Something like an ombre would look absolutely STUNNING! God, the thought of it makes her wanna try it out, now! But that brown and gold with her bright, nearly burnt amber eyes? Nah, that wouldn't look nice. Not what she thought, at least. [break][break]
BUT THAT WAS HAIR. HAIR OUTTA THE WAY-- She seriously couldn't figure out why she was having so much trouble. Like, how hard was it to find ONE guy in black?! She'd think that, with his height, he'd stick out like a sore thumb? All she had to do was embrace her inner "done" radar and BOOM. TAO. A WILD TAO. It always worked in the pokemon games, didn't it? You'd just grab a radar, start yo searching and BOOM, SHINY! That's how it worked in real life, right? Had to be, otherwise they would have LIED THEY WOULD HAVE LIED TO HER. She's already had to deal with ONE guy lying to her (the goat guy had the NERVE - THE AUDACITY - to lie to HER of all people! For shame!) so she would probably throw a fit for being lied to. By a game! Wouldn't that just make her feel stupid? Definitely stupid. Bleh. [break][break]
Her bright eyes begin to scan around, searching high and low for this man in her mind. Waaaas he.. Behind this tree? NOPE. Boo. Was he.. uP IN THE TREE?! Look at her, being so smart, thinking outside the bo-- Nope, not there either. Boo, and just when she was starting to feel SMART. With a soft grumble, Naomi huffs (and probably pulls, attempting to blow down a non-existent house down) before sitting herself own with her arms crossed. "Where could he beeee..?" She asks to herself, ignoring the.. Probably odd gazes she got from passing students. But then a sudden spike of GENIUS hit her. She was just looking behind, and up, BUT WHAT ABOUT DOWN, EH? Immediately, she moves her legs to quickly look under the bench and - to her dismay - she doesn't find anyone or anything of interest. Looks like it's time to look somewhere else--[break][break]

One would think that Frieda would have a relative grasp on where things were on this campus in relation to each other by now, but evidently, that was asking too much. Most of these buildings were as good as useless to her when it came to her major. Even the buildings that did matter were something of labyrinths themselves; any time she'd had a shuffle of classes and new places to go, it was only with Lorelei's help that she managed to find her way the first time and memorize it for subsequent walks. Busing to class had lost her key details about the map of this school – the mental map, the one that was actually helpful, unlike the sparse and nondescript ones they had littered over random campus walls – and now that she had strayed from the usual path, she'd come to realize that she... had no idea where she was. Like. At all.[break][break] Asking for directions was out of the question, of course! Marlenes were strong by nature, never taking help from others, only giving it out. Never mind the fact that refusing help when lost had gotten her into trouble countless times before this ( in the grocery store, in the mega malls, in the whole of Denver, Colorado... that last one in particular sent a chill down her spine), but she'd always managed to get to a place of familiarity in the end, right? Even if it was her sister finding her, rather than her finding her sister.[break][break] One wrong turned corner after another. Even when she thought she found a tree she recognized, the brunette would race forward only to find herself surrounded by buildings less recognizable than the last few. She even went so far at one point to as have left campus entirely before sheepishly turning tail – and even then, despite walking back to where she'd come from, the area looked even less familiar than before! It was during this desperate search for some name she remembered plastered on the side of a wall, though, that a pink bundle of energy was making its way through, nearly barreling into her in the process. Others turned to stare in the same moment that she did, which was quite an accomplishment in itself, what with the general apathy of most college-goers, but no one bothered to reach out. From the looks of it, though, Frieda wasn't the only one here searching for something.[break][break] Well. Maybe she could get help after all, just without having to outright ask for it. “ Hey!” she called, waving to the pinkette and jogging over to where she'd flopped down on a bench. How hard was it to find ONE person? just ONE?! It wasn't HER fault that this university was so big! Naomi sulks, quietly, to herself as she sits herself on the same said bench. She could have sworn that Tao would have been under something, hiding from her? She already tried looking up, around, behind-- Where else was she supposed to look? Inside the lecture halls? What if there was a class happening? It'd be incredibly rude to interrupt the class JUST because she needed to find someone! Also, that was assuming she could actually GET to Tao's class in the first place! She was in the dark as to where on earth he could be, hence why she was having so much trouble figuring it out. She puffs her cheek out, leaning forwards on the bench while swinging her legs to kick up the dirt. This wasn't fair. [break][break]

How dare? Not HER or the PEOPLE around her, staring, unsure, weirded out-- HOW DARE the university be so large? How DARE it be so difficult to navigate? She wouldn't be surprised if the students were having troubles of their own! The internal ranting causes Naomi too kick up a bit more dirt, childishly, until she was approached by a brunette - donning the same shade of brown that she was imagining! Were the gods in her head? Were they giving her an image of what she could look like? A magnificent occurrence, really-- GOD GET OUT OF HER HEAD.[break][break]
"YOU-" she immediately starts, suddenly raising from her seat to point a finger "- YOU.". Her hand stays pointed, initially in subtle shock before she jumps in her spot. She stares at the girl who sat herself down, with a grin that stretched across her face. "You're really pretty!" she exclaimed, head tilted slightly with a chime. "See, I was thinking of dying my hair brown like yours, but there's no WAY I'd be able to pull it off the same way you did--" close. She was close to going on another tangent, into her own little world. This girl would have to suffer through it. Thankfully, Naomi stops herself before sitting herself back down next to the young'in. [break][break]

Well, truthfully, she hadn't been expecting anything at all, save for maybe a 'yes' or maybe a 'no', but it wasn't like anyone paid her any mind, much less nice things to say. Especially not... the brown of her hair? Natural, for one thing, and rather bland, for another – or, at least, so she thought. For someone who had such a vibrant and cute color to style their own locks, dyed itself, no doubt ( what she didn't know...), brown seemed like the last thing the stranger would want. Besides, she'd never seen a pink dye job that good. Why waste it on something as blasé as her own hair color?[break][break] “ I, uh – I think your pink looks nice, though?”[break][break] Truthful, but dotted in hesitation just by context. How was she supposed to respond to any of that? Then, conversational whiplash: “ Very lost! I'm trying to find a friend!” Well! Lost friends. That was something the student could at least wrap her mind around. It didn't exactly help her out in her own pursuit of finding the correct building, but she couldn't leave a poor girl lost and without a friend, could she? Looking for some one was a lot easier than looking for some thing, too... definitely. Definitely.[break][break] Frieda clapped her hands together and put on her best look of absolute determination. “ That's no good! Who're you looking for? Beyond the confines of space and time, you could hear one of the gods as they look upon this poor, pitiful pair giving a sub-par display. The glint in the pinkette's eyes were, of course, already apparent. She wasn't about to let this girl go! Nope! Definitely not, because if she did, then she'd get lost again, right? And this girl here, because she was SO nice, definitely wouldn't try to ditch her, right? Right. Definitely. Odd glances? Didn't mean a thing. She tilts her head with a grin, now purposely letting strands of her pink hair fall to her face. "You think so?~" She asks, with a clear grin. By the gods if she were a dog, you could see that tail going on a helicopter whir. You'd hear the whir-- what with how her hands were on her knees, leaned forwards towards the unfortunate student. Total attention, locked onto this one. There was no escape. And because there was no escape? Some normal (can you call this normal?) conversation and ice breakers wouldn't be a problem, right? BUT. FIRST. TAO. The slippery little thing - it's because he didn't TALK that made it so DIFFICULT for her to find him! Like, trying to find a tall asian dude in a university SHOULDN'T be difficult, but it was. Not fair, she says. [break][break]
Hence, the girl casually holds up on hand - and a finger - at the other one's face. "Hoooold on~" She snickers as she pulls her phone from her pocket. Matching the pink and soft pastel aesthetic and fashion she loved so much, it was a cute little, pastel pink case with a fluffy, marshmallow plush bunny keychain dangling from it. Aaand a click, and a swipe, and a tap (or the other way around, any of those would work in whatever order), she finally opens up the phone to show a picture of herself, holding her fingers up in a peace sign, with a male next to her who looked more than disgruntled. Sharp, emerald eyes with the jet black hair. [break][break]

Had it not been for the lack of malicious intent in the sparkle of her eye, the head gesture may have looked confidence, even smug. Instead, all it managed was a sparkle in Frieda's own eyes as she clenched her hands into two mighty fists and insisted with all the force she count muster behind it, “ Of course I do! Wouldn't say it otherwise!” And then, with no real transition in between, there was a finger being pressed up close to her lips, and the stranger was digging around for a phone whose case was every bit as vibrant and fluffy as its owner.[break][break] Heavens. And Lorelei complained about her being too high energy! Perhaps this was the one person in all of Seattle who could face off against her sister; not in a battle of terror or wits, but merely in who would give in and run out of determination ( or raw, uncut energy) first. A horrifying thought.[break][break] Just when the brunette figured that she was going to get her picture snapped with no real rhyme or reason, however, a photograph taken at some unknown time in the past was being flashed her way instead. The pinkette was familiar in a way that literally only staring a photo of the person holding the photo could be; more interestingly, however, was the fact that the tall asian man stood beside her in that snippet of time, despite looking very much like he'd prefer to be anywhere else, also looked familiar, albeit significantly less so. Yes. Yes! She was sure that she'd seen him at some point of time on campus, otherwise the naggling feeling of knowledge would not be crawling just beneath her skin. Unfortunately, trying to claw for a specific time, a specific place, a specific reason earned her nothing, never mind the fact that there was no way for her to know what was being asked of her even with that context.[break][break] “ If he's in a psychology class, I think I know where the building is...” Maybe? And that was before taking into account that she couldn't even find the building she did recognize. Oof. Such half-hearted responses wouldn't put the poor lady's mind at ease, however – and who knew? Maybe they'd find the psychology building and her building more quickly if they searched for them both together as one. “ I mean – I definitely know where that is! Aha, yep! It's right over... there.”[break][break] A wicked finger was pointed off into the distance toward the shape of indistinguishable campus buildings in the distance, right where her gut was telling her the building would be.
